For many years, the only evidence of Eastbourne’s claim in sacred spring history was the area named Holywell, favourite of the retiree. However, since 20 the town has some real tangible evidence for a holy well, although whether the spring is the original holy well is open to debate.

The first record of a settlements. History. Bourne End's original location differed from today's established village centre, and was a half-mile downstream on the River Thames.

The name refers to the end of the river (bourne being an obsolete term for river), and derived from the mouth of the River a hamlet, it appears on Morden's map of Buckinghamshire as "Born end".

It was noted in the 19th century, however Civil parish: Wooburn. Bourne is located at the western end of Cape Cod, with the Cape Cod Canal cutting across the northern portion of the town.

It is bordered by Sandwich to the east, Falmouth to the south, Marion and Wareham to the west, and Plymouth and Cape Cod Bay to the north. The town lies approximately 20 miles (32 km) west of Barnstable, 55 miles (89 km) south-southeast of Boston, and the same distance.
